      MARRIAGE: It has been suggested that he was intended to marry Janet DOUGLAS, the daughter of his first guardian. This may explain the suppositious Janet DUNBAR, usually stated to be his wife, see 'The Scots Peerage', vol. 5 p. 523 fn. 6.
